Greetings to all our readers, well-wishers and patrons. The year 2024 has kicked off with multiple events and challenges for the aluminium market which have pulled prices in opposite directions. The possibility of further extensive EU sanctions against Russian metal imports has sent European premia upwards after spending most of 2023 on a downward trajectory. The escalation of the Red Sea crisis has further added to supply issues. We expect prices to remain under pressure amid weak demand. The demand for the green metal is likely to be move up and the role of JNARDDC in R&D and recycling
On behalf of JNARDDC, I take this opportunity to welcome Shri V L Kantha Rao, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Mines to the Government of India and wish him every success in his new role.
I congratulate my colleagues and co-inventors from other industries for filing 25 patents, out of which 20 patents have been granted till now. The patents granted will pave the way for commercialization the technology forward. JNARDDC has successfully completed the AKAM Awareness programs – PAN India (which included 84 Waste Utilisation & Scrap Recycling Drives (Al, Cu, Pb, Zn & Steel) including industry visit and awareness conference in 5 colleges and 22 ZP schools of 11 districts of Vidarbha region. The program received an over whelming response from the District Collectors, Education officers and school children. JNARDDC actively participated in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi held from 14th to 27th November, 2023. The Mining pavilion was conferred with Silver Award under most popular pavilion category. The Workshops conducted for School Students on Recycling of Metals were highly appreciated.
As a major step to promote MSME and start-ups, the Ministry of Mines as nominated JNARDDC as Implementing Agency for S&T-PRISM funding program which will act as a bridge between development and commercialization of innovative technologies/products/services in a relatively hassle free manner. JNARDDC is also initiating steps to become an incubation centre for promoting the above zeal.
I welcome all stakeholders to visit JNARDDC and get associated with the Centre for extracting the maximum R&D benefits out of facilities & expertise available with us.
