About Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of it’s people, culture and achievements.
This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in it’s evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s socio-cultural, political and economic identity. The official journey of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” commences on 12th March, 2021 which starts a 75 week countdown to our 75th anniversary of Independence and will end post a year on 15th August, 2023.

Activities undertaken by JNARDDC under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav

JNARDDC has organized Health checkup camp Phase-I on 7th April 2022 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

JNARDDC in alliance with Lok Kalyan Diagnostics, Nagpur organized a health checkup camp in JNARDDC premises on 7th April 2022 as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav events. Around 51 employees underwent health checkup in phase-1 covering CBC, serum cholesterol, RBS, serum, creatinine and thyroid test. ECG and other tests shall be taken up in Phase-2 with a renowned multispecialty hospital.

JNARDDC has organized blood donation camp (Phase II) on 7th January 2022 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

JNARDDC, Nagpur autonomous body of Ministry of Mines has organized blood donation camp on 7th January 2022 under the आज़ादी का अमृत मोहत्सव, AKAM which is initiated by Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and to remember freedom fighters who have wholeheartedly contributed for the independence for our country. This is a noble way of patriotic contribution to our motherland. This is one of the best opportunities offered by the Government of India to pay our tribute to our nation. On this occasion, we are encouraging our employees and staff to come forward and donate blood voluntarily. In the first phase on 16th August 2021 nearly 27 employees donated blood. Dr Anupam Agnihotri, Director JNARDDC expressed his gratitude towards the donors of the first phase. In the second phase the total no of donors turned out to be 55 thus making 82 donors in the completed list. It was observed that lady employees were ahead in donating the blood. JNARDDC organised an Inter-Office Rangoli Competition on 17th December 2021 for Employee / spouses of Central & State Govt offices / LIC / Banks / PSU- Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

JNARDDC, Nagpur an autonomous body of Ministry of Mines organised an “Inter-office Rangoli competition” as a part of the envisaged task of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 17th December 2021 in the office of JNARDDC, Nagpur. The event was inaugurated by Dr Anupam Agnihotri, Director, JNARDDC and around 50 participants from SBI, IDBI, Bank of Baroda, MECL, LIC, Social Forestry, Army, IBM, JNARDDC etc prepared spectacular and colourful rangoli. All the participants covered the theme of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav ranging from patriotism to festival and different culture of India. Ms Pradnya Ghayal of LIC secured the first position followed by Ms Mayuri Patre of Bank of Baroda on second spot. Ms Payal Bothra of SBI and Mr Rajesh Amre of JNARDDC shared the 3rd prize. Consolation prizes we awarded to Ms Santhoshi Sharma of IDBI and Ms Prajali Tijare of LIC. The program was organized by Mrs. R. Vishakha, Admin Officer and her team and vote of thanks was done by Mr R Srinivasan, Sr Admin Officer.

JNARDDC organised an 75 Kms Cycling Event on 12th December 2021 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

JNARDDC, Nagpur an autonomous body of Ministry of Mines organised a “75 kms Cycling Event” as a part of the envisaged task of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 12th December 2021 at 05:30 hours from the office of JNARDDC, Nagpur to Kondhali. The event was flagged off by Dr Anupam Agnihotri, Director, JNARDDC and renowned cyclist Dr Amit Samarth who is the only man in Asia to have completed the two longest cycling races in the world — Race Across America (RAAM) and Trans Siberian Extreme (TSE). 130 cyclists participated in the mega event which includes Shri Sachin Shirbawikar and Shri Pannalal Sevak both of them have completed deccan cliff-hanger (pune to Goa), Dr Bhupendra Arya (78 years) and others from central and state government offices, banks, PSUs etc. Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, chairman of the organizing committee along with Shri K.J. Kulkarni of JNARDDC awarded mementos, participation certificates and T-shirts made from recycled plastic (sponsored by Metal Recycling Authority of India, MRAI) to all the cyclists. Chief Guest Dr Amit Samarth urged everyone to commute by cycle to promote a fit and healthy society along with pollution free environment.

JNARDDC organized an Inter-School Quiz Contest on 12th Nov 2021 for school children between Class 8 to 10- Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) has been initiated by Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. Keeping in line with the Govt initiative, JNARDDC has undertaken series of tasks which include spreading awareness about scientific achievements & technological advancements in the field of aluminium, which have made a huge impact to India’s growth, both domestically and internationally. JNARDDC organized an Inter-School Quiz Contest on 12th Nov 2021 for school children between Class 8 to 10. The jury consisting of Dr. Md. Najar, Dr Suchita Rai, Dr PG Bhukte and two external teachers- Ms Afiya Riyaz & Ms Vanshika Dadlani evaluated 19 participating schools consisting of around 75 children. Ms Tanushree Raghatate and Mst Sanman Ghanbahadur of Bhavan's school, Trimurti Nagar bagged the 1st prize followed by Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ambazari team comprising of Mst Kanishka Tyagi and Mst Parth Chanape on 2nd spot. The 3rd prize was won by Prathmesh Dhoke and Mst. Nisheet Bawankar of Sacred Heart Academy, Patansaongi. Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director JNARDDC handed over the prize money, certificates and trophies to the winners and consolation prizes were also awarded to Bhavan's Lloyds Vidya Niketan, Wardha (4th) and Delhi Public School, Lava (5th). The program was conducted by Quiz Master Mrs. R. Vishakha, Admin Officer and her team of Mr. Kola I Raju and Ms Prachi Pradhan. The award of participation certificates and vote of thanks was done by Mr R Srinivasan, Sr Admin Officer.

JNARDDC, Nagpur celebrated the National Sports Day to honour the legacy of the wizard - Major Dhyan Chand and acknowledge the importance of sports in our life. JNARDDC organized a brief lecture about the legend on 30th August 2021 as a part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration. This was followed by a badminton and table tennis exhibition match between the last year winner and runners up with a view to highlight the significance of sports for physical and mental fitness.

A drawing competition was organized on 15.08.2021 for children of all employees and staff with the theme- “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The 75 participants were awarded participation prizes by Director, JNARDDC during the independence day celebrations.

Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated by JNARDDC on 13.08.2021

JNARDDC launched the “Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 - Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” event today (13.08.2021) from the JNARDDC technical complex. Around 55 employees and staff participated in the inaugural run of 3 kms and it shall be coupled with other events during the period upto 2nd Oct 2021.

online lecture series on " Aluminium - From Mine to Metal" starting from 12th March 2021

The Hon;ble Prime Minister Shri Modi Ji launched the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav which is is a series of events organized by the government of India to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Independence. The mahotsav will be celebrated as a peoples' movement across the country. In this regard, JNARDDC, Nagpur is conducting an online lecture series on " Aluminium - From Mine to Metal" to selected departments of NITs, IITs, regional and reputed colleges (75 colleges). The lecture series commenced from the week starting from 12th March 2021 with VNIT, Nagpur. JNARDDC is also in the process of making a 3-5 minutes video film, factsheets, leaflets on the growth of Aluminium Industry of India covering all segments and sectors.17 colleges have been covered out of the 75 as on date (05.10.21)
